EALING Project was presented by Jorge Miguel Lara Lopez from Fundacion Valenciaport during the online workshop organised by the Organisation for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) on 29th March. The workshop was focused on promoting green ports to improve the security, sustainability and connectivity of trade flows from Asia to Europe through the Caspian Sea Region.
The OSCE project aims to support selected ports in effectively implementing green port principles as a best practice in their operations and increase women’s economic participation in the energy, logistics and transport sectors.
EALING is focused on Onshore Power Supply (also known as Cold Ironing or Shore-Side Electricity): one of the key technologies to reduce emissions in ports, able to help in the ambitious OSCE’s goal of implementing a roadmap to achieve green logistics hubs in the region. Sharing EALING’s findings and results in terms of energy efficiency in ports and sustainable actions was part of the OSCE’s efforts to promote green ports and improve sustainability in the Caspian area.
