During the Transport Research Arena in Lisbon, EALING Project presented important results on its studies and actions
EALING Project was present at the Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2022, in Lisbon, the largest European research and technology conference on transport and mobility. With more than 2.000 participants, 600 speakers and 60 exhibitors, the event was another great opportunity to present EALING and its flagship action on cold ironing in ports.
EALING Project presented a scientific paper titled “Ealing project – Exploratory analysis of the future implementation of Onshore Power Supply facilities in European ports and relevant technical aspects for Port Authorities“, soon available. During the event was also available a EALING poster in the poster hall, describing the 5-parts questionnaire realised to analyse the state-of-the-art in EU maritime ports and their Onshore Power Supply infrastructures. The 54 respondents returned meaningful insights on technical, regulatory and administrative aspects, and 16 ports were identified as having some of their terminals with OPS solutions in place.
According to the results, 155 terminals will be available for OPS supply in the next 5 years – most of them serving container, general cargo, Ro-Pax, cruise, and Ro-Ro traffics – with a significant impact in the current port facilities status.
